About Us

This store was designed and created by me, Nelson Planting, during what was initially a 10-day working vacation in Los Gatos, CA.  I have lived in many nice places, but I knew Los Gatos was truly the one, and I would do anything to stay.

During my weekend visit to Berkeley to grab some shift registers for a project, I noticed the beloved Al Lashers Electronics was closed!  They’d been in danger of this for years due to overdue earthquake retrofitting.  So my thought was to buy up their stock and resell it as “vintage electronics components” in Los Gatos.  Just as a fun idea and in honor of their legacy and help them out. (The fate of their store still TBD)

A few days later, after a fateful encounter chasing down Jonathan Penn on his electric unicycle, and deep exploration of the topic, I realized this is the future, and this is the time and the place.
